Viña Tarapacá Gran Reserva Organic Carmenère 2019

Covert Farms Family Estate Rosé wine
It’s no secret that there’s an overwhelming number of certifications for wineries to choose from. I give major props to @vinatarapaca for outlining their sustainability/commitments on their website. I’d love more info to be available as to what these each mean, but there’s the beginnings of transparency here. ✔️ Quality Management ISO 9001 ✔️ Environmental Management 14001 ✔️ Occupational Health and Safety Management OHSAS 18001 ✔️ Organic Certification ✔️ Certification under the Sustainability Code from Wines of Chile ✔️ British Retail Consortium (BRC) ✔️ International Food Standard (IFS) ✔️ Sustainable Wines of Chile This aromatic and finessed Carménère is an excellent value with ripe blackberry, plum, and cherry aromas alongside violets and earth. This full-bodied wine, with velvety tannins and moderate acidity, offers similar flavours to the nose with the addition of subtle dried herbs and smoky cedar. Tasted December 2021.
