The Barossan Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
Perhaps best known for their Shiraz, the Cabernet Sauvignon from Peter Lehmann’s The Barossan range is equally deserving of a spotlight. The 2018 is full-bodied, rich, and well composed. Ripe blackberry and dark cherry notes integrate with earthy florals and hints of cedar spice. Plush and approachable tannins. Supple and textured with a lingering finish. Perhaps a little lofty for a summertime sip, but paired with stuffed roasted peppers off the grill...perfection. Tasted July 2022.
Process: Matured in 25% new and older 300L American oak hogsheads for 15 months.
