I'm head over heels for the new Living Land portfolio from Monte Creek . They've recently expanded their permaculture on their 1,200-acre Kamloops estate. In addition to the black cattle and honeybees, pigs now happily consume restaurant leftovers while chickens till the soil, adding nutrients to the vineyards. This Monte Creek Living Land Riesling 2020 is sourced from a single vineyard site in the Similkameen Valley. Aromas of lemon zest and Granny Smith apples shine against the racy acidity. It's a touch off-dry on the palate, though refreshing and impressive with its lingering complexity. Tasted October 2021.
