Monte Creek Chardonnay 2018
With four years of bottle age, I fear this expression starting to cling to the already-neutral aromatics - few make themselves known in the glass. On the palate, however, it shines. Fruity flavours of lemon, pear, and hints of peach are harmonious with a plushy mouthfeel, with subtle caramel and integrated oak. A lengthy finish with a nice lift of acidity near the end to cap things off. Tasted October 2022.
Process: Aged nine months in French oak.
