La Crema’s Chardonnay from 2019 highlights the coolness of the vintage, leading to a slow and steady ripening of the grapes until harvest began on September 30. That steadiness led to a firm thread of structural acidity without overpowering the flavours. A bouquet of white grapefruit and lime zest remains in the background, while nectarine, pineapple and baked apple mingle with wafts of brioche and minerality through the finish. Tasted October 2022.
