High Note Patter Brut 2022
High Note Estate Winery is making waves for its Mediterranean-inspired wines produced in the Okanagan Valley. The winery calls the High Note Patter Brut 2022 "Intricate. Elegant. Fruity."
This bubbly welcomes you with a dance of aromas — think white pear, nectarine, and zesty grapefruit harmonizing with clean mineral undertones. The effervescence is pleasant, deriving from the cuvée close method. Akin to Prosecco, it's a blend of 85% Pinot Noir with a touch of Merlot, adding some weight to the body.
It took an unexpected amount of strength to pop the cork. Use a steady hand over a towel to slowly release it from the bottle.
Tasted December 2023.
Process: Cuvée Close method (aka Charmat, metodo Italiano, or the tank method)
