Hester Creek GSM 2022
First review published as part of --> https://vineroutes.com/are-okanagan-gsm-blends-safeish-from-climate-change/ "Laser-focused red fruit is on display in Hester Creek’s 2022 GSM. From only two-year-old vines, it’s light and offers notes of savoury spice and smoke with nicely accentuated acidity and moderate tannins." Tasted May 2024.
--------------------------------------------
This wine brings more complexity than just a few months ago. While the nose promises brightness, the palate delivers a more savoury experience. Dark fruit aromas intertwine with hints of sweet tobacco and coffee beans, creating a more brooding profile. It is medium-bodied with good structure and offers flavour intensity balanced by some grippy tongue tannins. Tart cranberry and blueberry emerge through the mid-palate, leading to nice cedary notes on the finish. There's evolution yet to come with this one. Tasted October 2024.
Process: 14 months in 100% French oak.
