Château des Charmes Chardonnay 2016
Château des Charmes Chardonnay 2016 took me on a bit of a journey. Its aromas are near non-existent (hello, are you there?). But its flavour profile is explosive. Round and textural, with expressive pear, golden apple, and grilled tropical fruit. The body is full, with a soft buttery mouthfeel, but not oaky. It really brought me around. Notes of warm spices and toasted vanilla linger on the outskirts through a finessed finish. Tasted October 2021.
Process: Barrel fermented and aged “sur lie” for up to 12 months in French oak barrels.
