Bodegas Montecillo Reserva 2014
The full-bodied Bodegas Montecillo Reserva 2014 delivers power and elegance, with pipe tobacco, firewood, and bay leaf notes intermingling with plum and blackberries. On the robust palate, there are drying tannins, subtle touches of earthiness, and mouth-filling red fruit flavours that are broad and sweeping. Pleasing acidity with an elegant finish. Winemaker's notes recommend up to eight years of cellaring from its winery release, making this one good to appreciate until 2026. Tasted February 2023.
Process: Aged in French (65%) and American oak barrels (35%), 24 months in the case of the Tempranillo and 22 months for the Mazuelo. Blended, then at least two years of bottle aging before its release.
