Blasted Church Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2022 is a personality-driven white Bordeaux-style blend from the Sitrus Hill Vineyard on the northern shores of Osoyoos Lake. Comprising 65% Sauv and 35% Sem, the profile leads with citrus: tart lemon and unripe pineapple. Notes of Granny Smith apple weave throughout. On the palate, bracing mouth-puckering acidity makes way for flavours of pear and pineapple. Sauvy B typicity shows a bit of greenness; however, it steers clear of the New Zealand cat pee trope, while Semillon brings some welcome textural mouthfeel. Tasted October 2023.
Process: Fermentation in French oak barrels and aging on lees for six months.
