1 Mill Road Home Block Pinot Noir 2022
1 Mill Road Home Block Pinot Noir 2022 feels unmistakably Naramata Bench: lifted, savoury, and shaped as much by place as by winemaking. Sourced from a tiny 1.5-acre vineyard perched above Okanagan Lake, the wine leans into the cool precision of the vintage with bright natural acidity. Aromas of sour black cherry, wild strawberry, sagebrush, and graphite unfold, while the palate brings a gentle earthy edge alongside cocoa-dusted tannins and subtle cedar spice from the oak regime. The 30% whole-cluster inclusion adds a faint stemmy snap. There’s confidence here; nothing feels overworked or overly polished. Decanting helps the savoury notes open up. Try it alongside duck, mushroom dishes, or grilled salmon. Tasted May 2024.
Process: 30% whole cluster inclusion. Matured for 9 months in a combination of large oak vats and new French Oak barriques. No fining or filtration took place.
