Broc Cellars Love White 2021
I can’t remember the last time I was so smitten with a wine. I don’t get overly enamoured about many bottles, but this one knocked my socks off (never mind that I haven’t worn socks since April). Broc Cellars Love White 2021 is magic in a glass comprising 31% Marsanne, 24% Albariño, 18% Grenache Blanc, 15% Roussanne, and 12% Picpoul from Madera, Santa Maria Valley, and Yolo County. White grapefruit erupts from the glass, accompanied by lemon pop rocks and fresh-cut height-of-summer grass. Blazing acidity throughout a refreshing and textured palate with a nod to peach fruit cup syrup on a lengthy finish. Tasted October 2022.
Process: All varieties were fermented separately, then aged in neutral French oak barrels with no S02.
