1 Mill Road Chardonnay 2023

Covert Farms Family Estate Rosé wine
1 Mill Road Chardonnay 2023 was sourced from one of the Naramata Bench's oldest self-rooted vineyard sites. Notes of lemon peel, green pear, crushed almond, flint, and a subtle chalky grip. There’s a savoury, slightly nutty depth underneath the citrus and orchard fruit that gives the palate real dimension, finishing long with green apple skin and a touch of white pepper. It’s the kind of Chardonnay that will appeal equally to Chablis drinkers and fans of more restrained West Coast styles, and it should evolve nicely over the next five to seven years. Pair it with roast chicken, halibut, or anything involving brown butter and fresh herbs. Tasted June 2025.
Process: Fermented in French oak puncheons and barriques (34% new) and barrelled on full solids. Malolactic fermentation was prevented. Aged in barrel for nine months before blending, gentle filtering, and bottling.
