SALT Tequila Citrus

Covert Farms Family Estate Rosé wine
A nuanced and flavourful tequila. I wouldn't go as far as to say it's flavoured (although I believe that's what it would be officially categorized as), but the citrus-forward core is undoubtedly at the forefront. An 80-proof expression that ticks all the right boxes regarding 'authentic' tequila, SALT Tequila Citrus is a great choice for at-home mixologists with a curiosity for breaking from the classics. And while diehard spirit lovers may baulk at the contemporary essence-like flavour, I say as long as it tickles your taste buds — go for it! With that said, my biggest qualm sits with the brand's website and its ability to communicate everything yet nearly nothing simultaneously. What I mean is, while I appreciate marketing speak, I value transparency much more. Website quote: "The process of creating SALT Tequila is as unique as the tequila itself. It's a process that requires the focus and dedication of a boutique distillery, the skilled and practised hands of a tequila master and people trained in the art and craft of tequila, natural flavouring and blending to capture the highest quality drink." Cool — but as an enthusiast who thrives on details, that describes very little about people and processes. Tasted May 2022.
Process: Distilled in a stainless steel pot.
