Quails’ Gate Heirloom White 2025
Quails' Gate Heirloom White 2025 is a terrific example evolving heritage. Quails’ Gate has been growing the Swiss grape since 1961, and its long-established plantings form the backbone of this blend with Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris. The result is wonderfully restrained: lemon, white pear, spring blossom and crisp apple lead into a fresh, balanced palate with plenty of acidity and a clean, food-friendly finish. Pinot Gris drinkers will recognize the ripe fruit and floral character, but Chasselas brings a lighter, more poised feel that keeps the wine from becoming overly fruity. Made for immediate drinking. At $24, it’s an unusually accessible way to taste a grape rarely seen in Canada, especially from such established vines. Tasted April 2026.
Process: Varietals were cold-fermented separately in stainless steel.
