Plume Cabernet Franc 2024

Covert Farms Family Estate Rosé wine
From Quails’ Gate, the new Plume Collection was born out of necessity after the severe 2024 BC winter freeze, with the winery turning to Washington State for fruit. Plume Cabernet Franc 2024, sourced from vineyards in the Columbia Valley, shows juicy red plum, sour cherry, and cassis layered with dried herbs, graphite, and a hint of cedar. The warm, dry Columbia Valley climate delivers generous fruit while steady breezes help retain freshness. Sixteen months in French oak, 40% new and 60% neutral, adds a subtle layer of spice and texture while allowing the Cabernet Franc’s fruit and savory character to remain front and center. Medium-bodied and rounded, with bright acidity and supple tannins, it’s approachable now but has the structure to develop for a few years yet. Tasted August 2026.
Process: Aged in 40% new French oak and 60% neutral French oak for 16 months.
