The Grange of Prince Edward County Lafontaine du Loup Brut 2023

Covert Farms Family Estate Rosé wine
The Grange of Prince Edward County’s Lafontaine du Loup Brut 2023 is a polished traditional-method sparkling wine that captures the cool-climate character of Prince Edward County with plenty of depth. A 62% Pinot Noir and 38% Chardonnay blend, the grapes were hand-harvested and co-fermented, with this being the first vintage sourced entirely from the estate. Fresh brioche, toasted almond, preserved lemon, white pear, and honeydew lead into a creamy, finely textured palate, while bright acidity and a mineral edge keep the wine focused. The mousse is notably fine and persistent, giving the wine an elegant, seamless feel rather than a heavy one. There’s enough autolytic richness to make this compelling on its own, but the citrus-driven freshness and savory mineral character would make it particularly good with oysters or fried appetizers. A serious County sparkler with the structure and complexity to reward a leisurely pour. Tasted August 2026.
