Blasted Church Unorthodox Chardonnay 2025
Blasted Church Unorthodox Chardonnay 2025 is a reminder that “Chardonnay” can cover a surprisingly wide range of styles. Made from Chardonnay Musqué, a naturally aromatic clone of Chardonnay, it brings more perfume and fruit character than the typically neutral Chardonnay clones used for many classic styles. Here, that means sweet apple, yellow fruit, and a touch of spice, with medium body and enough acidity to keep the wine lively. The fruit is fermented and aged in stainless steel, resulting in a fresh, rounded Chardonnay with plenty of personality. If you usually associate the grape with buttery, oaky wines, this one takes a different path. Tasted July 2026.
Process: After 48 hours of cold settling the clean juice was racked off heavy lees to stainless steel tanks for fermentation and aging.
