Blasted Church Sauvignon Blanc 2025
Blasted Church Sauvignon Blanc 2025 takes a more citrusy, herbaceous turn than the last vintage I tasted of this wine. The 2022 leaned into Granny Smith apple, pear, and pineapple, with Semillon giving it a rounder, more textured feel. This one is all about grass, lemon rind, citrus, and nectarine, with a little candied peel adding a fun twist. The acidity is high and mouthwatering, keeping the wine fresh and giving the citrus plenty of lift, while the Semillon still adds some texture through the middle. It’s a more focused, zippy expression than the 2022, and a good reminder that Okanagan Sauvignon Blanc doesn’t have to follow the tropical New Zealand playbook. There’s plenty of personality here, with a long, citrusy finish. Tasted July 2026.
Process: Sauvignon Blanc was fermented and aged in a mix of stainless steel and French oak, while the Semillon was entirely barrel fermented and aged in French oak. The blend was assembled and returned to tank and barrel for further aging before bottling.
