About Social Sips

Nicole MacKay

Owner/Consultant, WSET 3 Certified

For me, wine is a transport to another world. Whether it’s a Malbec from Argentina, a Shiraz from Australia or a blend from the South of France, every wine has a story and it’s my passion to share those stories with you at Social Sips. Wine is so much more than just a beverage, it brings people together and gives them memories to last a lifetime.

Career Highlight: Walking the underground cellars at Pol Roger Champagne. They gifted my husband and I bottle of the 2002 Vintage Brut which we still have.

Favourite Surprise Varietal: Gruner Veltliner. People always end up loving the flavour profile.

Soft Spot: Rioja. If there’s one on the wine list, I will almost always order it.

Erin Wills

Social Sips writer, Erin Wills

Originally an Ontario girl who transplanted to Vancouver, BC for a decade then Calgary, AB for 4 years, I have come full circle and am residing back in Ontario.  My wine journey is a lot like me, always transforming. I’m constantly looking for something new and different to suit my tastes and occasions. I love bringing wine to a friend’s house and being able to talk knowledgeably about it. I find that wine can bring people together, to make memories, enjoy delicious food and be in good company.

Having lived so close to the Okanagan for many years, I enjoyed traveling there and learning all about the amazing wines of BC. Now that I am back on home soil it’s time to get re-acquainted with the Niagara Region and Prince Edward County wines, a lot has changed since I was here last!  I’m hoping you will find my Social Sips posts informative, but most of all fun as I try to come up with new and interesting recommendations for you!
