To say that our world flipped upside down these past few months is a pretty big understatement. The wine industry felt its pains. But in some regards, it was able to pivot quickly and focus on accessible options for wine drinkers. In BC, the government started allowing the sale of wine with takeout from restaurants. In Alberta, some stores began offering delivery services almost immediately after lockdown. Plus, shipping rules changed allowing wineries to ship direct to consumers across the country.
In coincidental timing, Trialto launched its rewards club in early March. While the club doesn’t necessarily make buying wine easier, it certainly makes it more worthwhile.
The innovative program allows members across Western Canada (it’s free!) to gain points for doing nothing more than what’s already common practice – buying wine! It’s easy: buy wine, accumulate points, then redeem points for wine-related swag!
HOW TO GET POINTS
After downloading the free Trialto Rewards Club app, use the app to take a picture of your liquor store receipt. The app will collect 1 point for every dollar you spend on wine. Any wine! Whether it’s a pinot noir from British Columbia or a Rioja Reserva from Spain, $1 = 1 point.
HOW TO GET POINTS – QUICKLY
Trialto has weighted its wines with more value. If you’re looking to gain points 10x faster, research their portfolio and buy those wines. $1 spent on Trialto wine = 10 points. Their portfolio is expansive with wines available at most liquor stores across Western Canada.
HOW TO GET POINTS – THE QUICKEST
Getting your friends onboard is the best way to expedite your membership. When they join and send in their first wine receipt, you each get 2,500 points!
WHAT DO THE POINTS MEAN?
The benefits of membership are vast. By signing up and submitting receipts, you’re automatically entered into a monthly draw for $250 – cash! That’s more than most people spend on wine in a month, so if you win, you’re already in the black just by signing up.
When it’s time to redeem points, you get to choose from a plethora of wine-related items and experiences. Rewards include magazine subscriptions, glassware, VIP tours and even invites to winemaker dinners!
As you can expect, there’s an incentive to collect points quickly. Trialto offers silver, gold and platinum levels for added value. For instance, accruing 10,000 points within 12 months lands you in the silver category. This gives access to free wine tastings and concierge support for wine recommendations. That’s kind of like having a personal sommelier . If you get 80,000 points in 12 months, that’ll give you platinum access. This level offers everything from double points promotions to special ‘surprise & delight’ gifts.
Being a member of the rewards club is a win-win. You get to continue buying and drinking your favourite wines. But you also get perks, exclusivity and the chance to try new wines that you might not otherwise. For full details and to sign up, visit TrialtoRewards.ca.
